GivePower

Our Partnership To Energizing Change

Every Installation Makes a Difference

  • Donate $40 for Change: With every solar installation, we donate $40 to our GivePower Impact Projects.

  • Mission To Build Smart Villages: Provide solar, clean water, and internet to remote communities through our global impact projects.

  • Global Volunteer Projects: Upon reaching $100,000, 10 Soligo volunteers will install solar infrastructure in remote villages.

  • Double Our Impact: We challenge all to match our donation. Even a $20 can provide one person with solar, water, and internet.

Solar Site Survey

February 27, 20262 min read

A Site Survey (SS) is an on-site visit where trained professionals take measurements and verify your roof, structural integrity, and electrical conditions. The goal is to confirm your home is ready for a safe, code-compliant solar installation.

This step helps ensure the final system design matches real-world conditions before installation begins.

What a Solar Site Survey Means for Your Home

Why it matters

While your initial proposal is based on modeling software and satellite imagery, a Solar Site Survey confirms everything in person.

During a Site Survey, technicians typically review:

  • Roof dimensions and pitch

  • Roof condition and materials

  • Structural framing and support

  • Shading conditions

  • Main electrical panel capacity

  • Meter location and service details

This ensures your system can be installed safely and meet local building and electrical codes.

If adjustments are needed, they are identified early — helping avoid delays later in the process.

How it affects savings

A proper Solar Site Survey protects system performance and long-term savings.

Several factors influence the outcome:

  • Accurate roof measurements

  • Electrical panel verification

  • Structural integrity review

  • Shading confirmation

By verifying these details, engineers can finalize system design with confidence. This supports realistic energy production estimates and helps prevent installation changes that could impact system efficiency.

Catching potential issues early also helps avoid delays that could postpone activation and energy savings.

Where it shows up in the process

  1. After Contract & NTP: The Site Survey is scheduled once financing approval is secured.

  2. On-Site Visit: A technician inspects roof, structure, and electrical systems.

  3. Design Finalization: Engineering drawings are updated based on verified measurements.

  4. Permitting Submission: Confirmed site details are submitted for code approval.

Where You’ll See This in Your Solar Project

After receiving Notice To Proceed (NTP), Soligo schedules your Site Survey. A trained technician visits your home to confirm measurements, inspect structural framing, and review your electrical panel.

The information gathered is used to finalize engineered plans and ensure compliance with local building codes. If upgrades or adjustments are required, they are identified before installation begins.

Soligo conducts thorough Site Surveys to protect safety, performance accuracy, and smooth project progression.
