Solar financing approval paperwork confirming Notice To Proceed

Notice To Proceed (NTP)

February 21, 20262 min read

Notice To Proceed (NTP) is the official approval from your financing company confirming that your loan or lease file is complete and funding is secured. Once NTP is issued, your solar project is cleared to move forward into scheduling, material ordering, and installation steps.

In simple terms, NTP means your project has financial approval and is ready to advance.

What Notice To Proceed Means for Your Home

Why it matters

Before installation can begin, financing must be finalized. The financing company reviews your signed agreement, credit approval, documentation, and project details.

When everything is approved, they issue a NTP.

This confirmation means:

  • Your financing is officially secured

  • Required documents have been completed

  • The project can move into the next phase

  • Installation scheduling can begin

Without NTP, the project cannot move forward to installation.

How it affects savings

NTP does not directly impact system production or performance — but it plays a critical role in your timeline.

Once NTP is issued:

  • Equipment can be ordered

  • Permitting can move forward

  • Installation scheduling can begin

  • Your path to activation (PTO) starts progressing

The sooner your project reaches NTP, the sooner your system can be installed and begin generating electricity — which means the sooner you start reducing your utility bill.

Where it shows up in the process

You’ll encounter Notice To Proceed during the early stages of your project:

  1. After Contract Signing: You complete financing paperwork and required documentation.

  2. Financing Review: The lender reviews and approves your file.

  3. NTP Issuance: The financing company sends official confirmation that the project is cleared to proceed.

  4. Project Scheduling: Once NTP is received, the installation team can move forward with permitting and scheduling.

Where You’ll See This in Your Solar Project

After you sign your solar agreement and complete financing documentation, your file is submitted to the lender for final review. When everything is verified, the lender issues a Notice To Proceed.

At that point, Soligo can begin coordinating permits, material ordering, and installation scheduling. NTP marks the transition from paperwork to active project execution.

Soligo monitors this milestone closely to ensure your project advances smoothly from financing approval to installation and eventual Permission to Operate (PTO).
